It's hard to believe that it is actually mid 60's and so beautiful outside. Lighty worked outside today while I prepared supper for us and played on the computer and did the laundry.

Yesterday was so nice and relaxing. I went to my LSS and cropped for the day and into the evening. I actually was able to complete four LO's. It was a different atmosphere as the usual croppers were missing. That was fine by me as I made some new friends and actually got a lot accomplished. I didn't make it to the end because I was so tired. I was home by nine, unpacked and in bed within the half hour.

So, it's Sunday and I have the blues. I sure hope the work week goes by quickly. I would like to clean the house next weekend and start decorating for the holiday season.

As I was surfing the web one night, I found this wonderful site full of inspiration. It's called Sketchabilities and it's just full of talent. When my mojo just isn't doing anything for me, I turn to sketches. They are a great starting place for a LO. Sometimes my LO may look a little like the original sketch or most times it takes on a completely different look. Well anyway, they are looking for a new DT. I think I am going to send in my application. I just love their sketches. I would love to be a part of their team.

I need a vacation...

So, I decided I need a vacation. School is stressful. Lighty is working so much and is in the woods when he can find the time. The prince will soon be home for a break (and I so dread it). Chris is so sweet but my nerves have had enough of his slowness for right now. Lighty really dislikes any type of vacation unless it is nature oriented. I just want to have FUN. So, what better place to go than DISNEY. I am taking my mom and sister to Disney World in February for a week. We are going to see shows and parades, ride some rides and have a nice dinner every night. I am like a kid in a candy store. I can hardly wait. It should be a good time. Now, I am not a Disney freak, but what other place can a person go and just have FUN? So, that is what I did all weekend long...worked on our plans. We are staying at the Carribean Beach Resort, I got us a six day hopper pass, the dining plan and made all our dinner reservations and even booked our flight. We are good to go! So, my friends, I had good intentions to scrap this weekend, but instead, I had a magical weekend making reservations to go and see the mouse.

Sunday night AGAIN and I have the blues AGAIN. We received a message on our voicemail Friday that our electricity will be shut off tomorrow so they can finally fix the line in our development. It has been an ongoing thing. We never know when we will be without power. This means no shower, no toilet and bedhead hair for the day. I plan to wake up extra early tomorrow in hopes that I can beat the shut off time.

It was a relaxing weekend. I didn't do much except the usual house stuff and laundry. Today I cooked off a pumpkin and then made homemade chocolate chip pumpkin muffins. I must say the house smelled good this afternoon.

I sure hope this week goes by quickly. I am tired of school right now, but it seems that most of the teachers are feeling this way. I think the district put way too much on our plates this year. I just wish I could get out of this funk.

So, here's to having electricity in the morning and a brisk, fall day without rain!

I just got back from four days at a SB retreat house. It was so nice to leave my worries and responsibilities at home and just scrap, laugh and have fun. I was finally able to finish the land part of our Alaska trip this past summer as well as a mini album for my niece and a random LO called snake busters. I was quite happy with this LO as it was the first time I actually sewed on a LO...thanks to LOTS of help from a friend.

Now it's back to day two of reality...WORK. I can't wait until April until I get to do it all again.

Here's to Autumn...it's finally here.

I cannot believe it's been forever and ever since I last updated this blog. I guess it's time for an update. Life is busy, school is super busy and I am busy. There is not much new with me, same old stuff, just a different day. I am looking forward to a three day weekend. And then, two days of work and I am off for four days of fun scrapbooking...I am so looking forward to it. And you know what? I really don't care how many layouts I complete...just can't wait for four days of NO RESPONSIBILITIES! So, I am trying to get all the house stuff done tonight so I can enjoy my three day weekend. Adios, Amigos!

another week gone by...

Well, week three down and it was hectic. Parent's night is under my belt and now it's on to GIEP's. I have two this week and then I need to schedule two more for revisions. I love my job, but I really dislike writing GIEP's. Now that I think about it, I don't dislike writing the GIEP, I dislike the forms...with the way technology is today, one would think the forms would work. Geesh, it takes me longer to make the form look professional than it does to write the GIEP. I just need to get through the week and then I am golden. Thursday's meeting will be the tough one. Say a prayer for me and wish me well.

Saturday was a fun day. I spent it at my LSS cropping from 8AM-10PM. I worked all day long on my Alaska album. I am getting closer to finishing, but not near done! To tell you the truth, I am not tired of the Alaska photos, but I am tired of trying to find paper to match the photos. It was great to see friends and just connect and laugh.

Today was the usual...groceries and laundry. Lighty ended up going for a long bike ride today to see his prince and buddy. No need for me to go with him. So, I didn't make the trek to Bloomsburg. No love loss there...and believe me, I am so not wanting the prince to come home for his Thanksgiving break. It's been just too peaceful here at the house.

So now it's off to prepare supper and then a full night's worth of GIEP writing and schoolwork. Have I said it often enough "I really dislike Sunday nights."

Here's to a smoothe night of writing goals, plenty of glasses of iced tea, and lots of breaks for my sanity.

Sunday Night Blues

Well, it's my Sunday night post...least favorite time of the week. I had a good weekend. I made more sauce...so many tomatoes from the garden and I didn't want to have to throw them out or have them go bad on me. I also made another batch of fresh salsa. I love having this for my lunch. Nothing better than a little bit of salsa, some scoops, and vanilla yogurt with some granola. I am trying to eat a little bit healthier for lunch this year.
I also was able to do a little bit of shopping this weekend too. I scored some pants that were on sale, a very cool jacket, a few tanks (I love me some tanks and wear them all year long), a great sale at Vicky's (had to stock up on my lotion, body spray and shower gel), and bought a new cool belt and purse. Retail therapy is always good for the soul!

So, here's to a new work week and hoping it goes by fast.

The end of a work week is soon here and it will be time to celebrate. Do you see me doing the happy dance? I don't have much planned this weekend except to get caught up on laundry and to make some more fresh salsa. Our tomato plants will soon be gone so I have to enjoy the freshness while I can. I should also dispose of the plants that are dieing a slow death around the outside of the house. I also hope to scrap the weekend away. I am slowly making a dent in our Alaska album. I guess that is why I don't have much to show you in LO's. I do have a LO that I did about a week or so ago. It is a photo from last summer...catching a locust escaping from its shell. So cool.

It's hard to believe that the weekend is just about over. I was up way too early today. I started my tomato sauce and it is still simmering...until it is all said and done, I will have about fifteen quarts. I will know tonight if it's a hit or not as we are having pasta for supper.

I also went over to my sister Kathy's house later in the morning. She had her grandson Aiden for the night. So, off I went to do a mini photo shoot of the two of them. I tell you, Aiden is such a ham and at that adorable and precious age. He is turning one this week and so darn cute. I just love my little nephew.

It's been calm here at the house. The prince is back at college and that is a nice feeling. The tension has lifted, the bellyaches are gone, but still working on cohesion. HEALING takes a LONG time. It's a process.

Tomorrow, the kiddos are back to school and I am in full teacher swing. It's back to a schedule, packed lunches and no naps. I sure am going to miss my afternoon naptime.

The last two days I was at inservice. They were long and boring days. Now mind you, I know it's time to get back to school and a routine, but at least have me go to inservice where the sessions have something to do with my teaching assignment. Needless to say, it was a wasted two days! So, tomorrow is my first official day of school. 183 more days to go...

new LO and new sketch site...I just found this really cool website that is devoted to card sketches. Since I am in LO mode right now, I am going to use their card sketches and interpret them for LO's. I missed the deadline for their first challenge, but better late than never. So it's Saturday. I was up early this morning. I made tons of stuffed peppers for the freezer and a huge container of fresh salsa. It took me all morning but well worth it. I am ready to relax for the remainder of the day. I am hoping to scrap this evening because it will keep me out of trouble!

Well, it's the last weekend before school starts for another year. I spent the day scrapping with Aymee. We decided to join forces and crop again because it might be awhile until we get together for some good old girl time. It was another fun day. I was able to complete one LO and got a good start on another LO. My Alaska photos are on hold for a while...just need time to scrap for me right now. I will post tomorrow when I can photograph my LO in the natural light.

The prince left to go to his GF's house for the weekend. I am doing the happy dance. That means no tension in the house for the next two days. And then, Wednesday he leaves for school. I might even do the happy dance naked! LOL There will be no tears shed at this house. He has not done one bit of preparation for school. And you know what? I DON'T CARE! I can hardly wait for him to leave. I guess he has been too busy laying across the bed watching cartoons.

Yesterday was a good day. One of my good friends Aymee came to my house and we scrapped the day away. It was so good to reconnect and have some good ole girl time. I think it was just what the doctor ordered. It certainly got my mind off of things. I just wish she lived closer. I only completed one LO and it actually was a scraplift of one of her LO's. That girl sure has some major talent! Thanks Aymee for a great day!

but who is counting? It is hard to believe that I only have six days left of my summer vacation. Where did the time go? I have been frantically preparing my classroom for another school year. I am still not done. I like to get everything
DONE so I am ahead of the game. Once school starts, it seems like there are ALWAYS small tasks that need to be completed. Once August 26th rolls around, I will be starting the countdown until the next summer vacation. LOL It just seems that the older I get, the more difficult it is to return back to school.

This Wednesday my good friend Aymee is coming to my house to scrap for the day. I am so ready for some girl time. We sure have fun when we are together. We share, we laugh, we eat, we crop and we vent. We are like two peas in a pod.

Here's to getting rid of that frog that has been hanging around our pond. I know he is looking to eat our baby fishies.

Happy...one of my good friends, Aymee is coming over tomorrow to scrap the day away. We have lots to talk about, laugh about and share about...I am so looking forward to tomorrow and some girl time. It's so tough when you live in a house of men and testosterone.

MAJOR computer issues going on but I am now back...
Last weekend was fun! I actually went to a SB weekend for four days and three nights. I was able to complete fourteen LO's. That is a record for me. I worked all weekend long on ALASKA. It was so nice to have no responsibilities for the entire weekend. However, on my way there, I decided to stop at my local library. I got caught in a speed trap. Imagine...seven miles over the speed limit and $151.50 later and I was on my way. Needless to say, I was a little p***ed off. I have no problem with a speeding ticket, but do have a problem when they set a trap right where the speed limit changes. And then to boot, they had about ten vehicles pulled over at this church. The "young" officers thought it was funny...laughing, smiling. That is what irked me. Their whole attitude about it! Anyway, I promise this week I will upload a few photos from ALASKA...just some beauty.

The eagle photo was taken in Alaska without a zoom lens. More about the eagle later...this LO was just a quick one...wanting to see how the photo would enlarge to a 5 x 7. I definitely want to do a special LO about our experience at Deep Creek and all the eagles that we saw up close and personal. It was such a neat experience and one that I will treasure...a highlight of our trip.

Tomorrow we head out to Alaska. I am excited, but yet know that today is my "last minute" day to finalize everything. Why is there always so much to do to get ready for a vacation? I guess I put that kind of pressure on myself.

On my list today: manicure and pedicure, clean and organize my purse, boy's list, cosmetic bag, clean the refrigerator, and scrapbook, LOL. Actually, I am in pretty good shape, so hopefully tonight I can relax a little bit.

Friday was a blast! Aymee and her mom, Carol came to my house and we cropped all day and night. It was so nice to finally meet Carol. Carol is Aymee's mom and from Alabama and a fellow educator. I am so glad she is my friend. What a great person! Hi Carol! Hi Aymee! Thanks Aymee for sharing your mom for the day. I was able to complete two LO's and two cards. Actually, Carol and I made the same two cards. Thanks for the perfect ribbon.

This first LO is of Aiden. I fianlly learned how to make paper pleats, thanks to Aymee. I am sure I will be using this technique on many more of my LO's. And, all paper was from my stash. I just love that I am using up all my scraps of paper.

This LO is of Chris and Jules. I think this might be the only picture I have of the three of us. There are two tags that I have hidden journalling...my relationship to the two of them. Again, I used my stash for this LO.

I just love using my Cricut!

Well, we packed and repacked last night for our upcoming trip this Wednesday to Alaska. It is so difficult to pack for a place that has extreme climate temperatures and to also pack for land and a cruise. Well, after discussing it again this morning, we are going to repack and downsize AGAIN tonight. I really do not like getting ready for an extended vacation. There is so much to do, but I know it will be all worth it.

before summer vacation...can you tell I am super duper excited to be done with school? I had a great year with the kids, but I think as I get older and wiser, I just enjoy my summer break more and more. I guess it doesn't help that I leave for Alaska one week after we leave out of school, and I have been planning this trip for almost ten months?

It was a relaxing weekend, but I do need to kick my butt in gear and get the house cleaned, get organized for Alaska (you know, all those errands one must do to get ready for a trip), and of course, do some scrapbooking with my good friend Aymee. I am excited for this coming Friday as she is coming to my house to crop the day away with me. I will also get to meet her mom, Carol. I am also excited about this, too. Carol is a teacher so I am sure we will have lots to talk about, especially comparing notes about state testing and curriculum.

So, the weekend has come to an end. I am not complaining this Sunday night. I have three half days of school this week...got to love it!

Imagine taking all weekend to create a one page LO. And, it was an easy one to boot! Anyway, I had an enjoyable weekend. Lighty and Chris treated me to breakfast for Mother's Day. The boys got me flip flops from Old Navy and Jules is going to buy me a fish of my choice for the pond. Chris helped me plant flowers on Saturday. I just had an all around good weekend. I think it was one of the best weekends in such a long time...relaxing, fun, and low stress.

Where did the weekend go? I can't believe it's Sunday AGAIN! So, yesterday I got out the calendar and counted the days until the end of the school year. I think I am loving the number 28 right now. I am so ready for summer vacation. I can feel it, I can taste it and I can see it. It just needs to get here.

Yesterday I had a good time snapping pictures of my niece and her husband and Aiden. He sure is growing like a weed. I was quite happy with the results and I can't wait to scrapbook some of the photos. We spent an hour or so up at Founder's Hall. It was a great place for a photo shoot.

Two more LO's from my crop from last weekend. I've been on a scrappy roll. My creative muse is back!

Happy Sunday

Well, it is NOT a happy Sunday. Those of you that know me well, know that I loathe Sundays from September through May. So, I am in depressed mode right now knowing that the weekend is soon over. It was a good weekend. I guess I should focus on the positive and not dwell on the negative.

Saturday I went to the stamping convention in Allentown with my sister, Kathy. We had an enjoyable day. I didn't purchase one stamp, but did manage to buy a bunch of other items, one being a brand spanking new ATG gun. I do believe I am going to like this new baby even though it will take some time getting used to it. It will defnitely be more cost efficient in the long run.

Today Lighty and I went to the HD dealership and finally found him a leather coat that FITS. It's been a long four months hunting for the perfect leather. I guess you not only have to look good when riding the Harley, but leather will definitely help you if you take a fall and it does help against the cold and wind. I also found me some sunglass goggles. I hope this helps with the wind in my eyes because that feeling is downright miserable.

I also managed to finish two of the LO's that I started when we were at the cabin last weekend. It feels good to finally scrap again.

So, here's to bourbon slushies, chocolate chip ice cream and ATG guns.

Actually, the week went by pretty fast but it's been a long and draining Friday. I don't want to offend anyone here, but did you know that parents can be such enablers? Lighty does this a lot, some parents at school do this. If you are guilty of this, STOP it now. Let children fight their own battles and work things out for themselves. It makes them better individuals.

21 days ago, I got twelve chick eggs. As of today, all twelve eggs hatched and all chicks are healthy. The kids are so excited. It has been a fun and informative process. I would say we had a very successful hatch. Actually, it is unusual that all eggs hatch and those that do hatch are healthy. Embryology ROCKS!

Two weeks until spring break, and then it's five days off of school. Do you see me doing the happy dance?

I had paint class tonight. We are working on bees right now. The bee sits on top of a huge sunflower. I think painting a bee is probably one of the most difficult things I have yet to paint. It is so hard to make it look real!

I cannot wait for the weekend. Lighty and I are undecided about going to the cabin. We may both go, he may go, or we just might park our butts here at home and get some things done around the house...err, I might scrap and he might get things done around the house. Isn't that how it works?

I should be getting my shower, packing my lunch and organizing myself for school. I just can't seem to get motivated this Monday morning. I guess it doesn't help that it is chilly outside...I WANT SPRING WEATHER!

I made this LO this past Saturday. It was an easy one...used my Cricut (Home Accents) to put cuts as overlays on some of the squares. The photo is of my older sister. I snapped this photo at the Philadelphia Flower Show. We sure had a good time that day.

It was a good weekend...on Friday night, I went out to eat dinner with Lighty, Chris, and UB. We had a good time eating wings and Greek salads. Saturday, I spent the day at a fifteen hour crop at my LSS with my good friend, Wendy. It was fun getting to spend some time with her. We always manage to have a good time when we are together. And Sunday, well everyone knows it is my least favorite day of the week. I finished all the laundry, went for groceries, made two loaves of chocolate chip banana bread, horseradish deviled eggs and also kraut and knockwurst for supper. I also was able to sneak in some time to check out my favorite scrappy sites and do some blog surfing while Lighty worked around the yard getting leaves out of all of our beds and gardens. He even managed to get the pond up and running. I am hoping SPRING is here!

So tonight I am hoping to scrapbook. I have some cards to make and would like to work on a LO for my April design team reveal at Scrap Addict, but I am already yawning. I do need to get a good night's rest as I still have two more days of PSSA tests to administer. PSSA testing is not a fun time.

I did this LO at the crop I attended this past Saturday. Those of you that know me also know the constant battle between Jules and I for the past year. I have done no LO's about him or pertaining to him. I just couldn't make myself do it. Anyway, while he was home for spring break, things between us seemed better. He no longer seemed p***ed off at the world, no longer disrespectful towards me and no longer having mean and angry words to say to me. I really think it is because of his new "girlfriend." She is a sweetie...so kind, so humble, so mature. I just hope his new attitude continues. Perhaps we will make it through the summer.

So let's all wish for warmer weather and lots of sunshine this week.

So, here it is another Sunday, and another week with no scrappy mojo. I am sitting here with no shower, hair pulled back and just waiting for Lighty to fix the leak he caused while cleaning the coils to our water heater. Now, he tells me it will be a few hours until we have hot water again. He needs to drain the water, soulder the pipes,and blah, blah, blah...WTH??? Doesn't he know I have things to do today? Oh well, all is good.

Today I am supposed to go and do a photo shoot for my niece, her husband and baby Aiden. We were going to do an outdoor shoot, but it is overcast, so we shall see if the weather changes by noontime. If not, I would like to work on my Philadelphia Flower Show album and plans for our Alaska trip.

I was up early today. I love the early morning hours when all is peaceful and quiet in the house...no TV, no loud music, no conversation...just the birds chirping outside. I folded the wash, made lasagne rollups for supper tonight and did a little bit of reading...total enjoyment and relaxation! So here's to a happy Sunday, even if it's without a shower.

It's Sunday! I cannot believe another work week is just upon me. Why does time fly by so fast? When I was younger, my parents used to say that all the time, and I never understood what they meant by it. Now that I am older (and wiser???), I know exactly what they meant.

Saturday was a good day for me. I went to my LSS and got to crop for about two hours. I actually started a LO and completed it today. Then, I met up with a really good friend, Wendy for lunch. It was so good to see her. We chatted for a few hours and got to catch up with one another. I sure hope we don't let time slip by us again. I miss that girl.

Jules is home from college for his spring break. My stomach has been in knots, but so far, so good. It helps that I stay away from him. Actually, he has pretty much stayed in his room, laying across his bed watching TV. If it were me, I would be connecting with friends, seeing extended family. Whatever! I plan to be scarce on the homefront this week, thus hopefully, there will be no confrontations between the two of us. I do know this, the computer will be on lockdown mode all week.

Today I got up early, finished the laundry, went for groceries, and just relaxed. Supper is in the oven...cajun pasta chicken. It sure smells yummy.

So, not much else is new. I am ready for Tuesday. I am taking my sister to the Philadelphia Flower Show for an early birthday gift. It should be a fun day. I hope to take lots of photos and will give a full report about it. So my friends, until next time...

I am so tired of being sick. I have a nasty cough, my ribs hurt, my head is pounding and I have no appetite. I am bored! I have so much schoolwork to do and no energy to do it. Go figure! Perhaps I just need some sunshine and a nice brisk walk. Maybe that will get rid of all of my bad germs.

Well, I am home sick. It all started Saturday evening at my LSS crop. I just wasn't feeling well. I did manage to stay for the duration of the crop, but just wasn't feeling the creative mojo. I managed to do only three LO's. One of the LO's is for Scrap Addicts, so I won't be posting that LO until after the reveal on March 15.

I did manage to get to J's on Sunday as they were having a huge sale. I bought two more embossing folders for my CB, a new cart for my beloved Cricut, and two of the new border punches by Fiskars. I cannot wait to play with my new tools.

So, I am in need of resting this weary body. I was up all night with a nasty cough. I didn't sleep much.

That's not too shabby for a girl who is so slow at creating layouts. I just booked our plane tickets to ALASKA! We leave June 10th...woo-hoo. We are doing our own land thing until June 17th and then we board our cruise ship for another week of sightseeing the inside passage. I cannot wait to see the beauty of this state...moose, bear, eagles, caribou, glaciers, whales, Denali...got to love it. I better practice up with my photography skills.

So, we are expecting a huge snowstorm and then freezing rain this evening and into the early morning hours. I am torn...I would love to have the day off of school but that only means we make the snow day up on President's Day. If that happens, it will be a long time of no days off of school. Our next day off would be the Easter holiday. I am so torn as I think I would love a day off of school to just stay in my jammies and scrap (and maybe even take a nap). I HATE snow! Perhaps, if we do get a nice amount of snowfall, I could get some good pictures.

Sunday night and another weekend has come to an end. Saturday morning I was up early and went to my LSS for an all day crop from 8AM - 11PM. I had so much fun, and I so needed this time to just be me! I was a bit productive...2 LO's, 3 bifolds, made and prepped a mini album for an upcoming class and started on my soup swap pages.

Darn it...the doorbell is ringing...visitors. My mom and sister are here. Don't they know that Sunday nights are for me? Seriously, all is good but I just want to scrap and enjoy the rest of my evening. So, off the computer and upstairs to visit.

I woke up this morning feeling refreshed. I got a good night's sleep, visited my LSS for some retail therapy and DH left with Prince to take him back to college. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. At least the tension will have left 109 until spring break. So, I completed a one hour sketch challenge over at Just Scrappin. Fun time and I even got another LO done for my album.

What a way to start a New Year. You would think that after 10 1/2 months of not cooking that it would be appreciated...I didn't cook before because of the nasty things and comments Prince would say to me and his dad would defend him. His dad is such a protector and enabler where the Prince is concerned. So anyway, I am back to cooking (and I LOVE to cook). I cook a tradtional meal...knockwurst, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. I even let the Prince throw in hotdogs as he really doesn't care for the knockwurst. I was being kind as typically what is cooked is what is served and eaten at all meals. So anyway, Prince gets out the bread for his hotdogs. I tell him I am not serving bread with our meal today. Call me a bitch, but I am the cook for the day and I didn't want a loaf of bread in it's plastic bag on the table. He starts cursing and swearing at me. He is just so disrespectful and it hurts. It hurts real bad. Anyway, to make a long story short, there was a big scene...a real big scene. I ended up making a plate of food for myself and retreating to my craft space and just crying. Happy New Year to me. Needless to say, I really didn't eat much. I am still upset and my belly aches from all the hurt. If Prince thinks it is so bad here, go somewhere else. I cannot wait until he heads back to college.

I am so thankful for my art, my bit of scrappiness. I am also thankful for my other stepson who causes no heartaches, headaches, bellyaches, stressaches. He dislikes when the Prince is disrespectful towards me too.

I am a warrior. I am strong. I will survive.

It seems that as I get older, time just ticks away from me. I have been off of school since the 23rd and have not done anything around the house. I am just enjoying the down time, relaxing, and doing lots of scrapping. I really need to kick myself in gear and get something done! The tree is still up, presents are still under the tree, decorations are still out and the house is dirty. One of these days...

Today I am off to do a few errands, go to my LSS (a girl has put her priorities straight), make spiced pecans (yummy goodness), take a nap, and do some layouts. I want to start my challenges for the New Year's Crop over at Just Scrappin'.

I had such a good and productive weekend at the SB retreat. I completed nine LO's which might be a record for me. The above LO's were word challenges. So fun to use different words for a title.

I have several more LO's to post and will do so in the upcoming days. Right now, I am organizing my Cricut carts and then off to the grocery store. I am hoping to scrap some more this afternoon and take a nap. I am so enjoying my time off of school.

Well, it's Sunday again. I cannot wait for Tuesday at 4:00. Then it's vacation baby! I will have a break until January 5th. It's time to relax, refresh and enjoy.

So anyway, let me introduce the youngest...Mr. Arrogant, but also known as the Prince of Palmyra, or sometimes Julian. He is arrogant, rude, stubborn, disrespectful, irresponsible, sneaky, dishonest and downright mean. Oh, I forgot to mention, he acts that way only towards me, his stepmother. To others he is quite the opposite. I am pretty sure it is because I "call him on the carpet" and am a black and white kind of gal...no grey area with me. He doesn't like that about me and hence, we butt heads all the time. That is OK with me as I do not want to replace his biological mother, just want the respect from him. I am frustrated, to say the least. I will stop there...

I can't believe it. It's already Sunday afternoon. Why do weekends have to pass by so quickly? I wanted to accomplish so much this weekend and didn't. I still have this evening to get some things done. I don't know what it is, but all I feel like doing right now is scrapbooking.

Busy week ahead...appointments, my luncheon I do for my 5th grade math students, a massage (happiness), tutoring, baking, last minute shopping, scrapping, and some more scrapping (I hope).

This LO was inspired from a challenge over at Fiskateers. I love the final results. I am using my Cricut more and more. What a fun machine with endless possibilities.

Tomorrow is Friday. Do you see me doing the happy dance? It's been a long week and I am so glad it has come to an end. I have lots on my plate this weekend; it's all good. I need to start and finish my Christmas wrapping and finish any last minute gift buying. I am so hoping to get started on some baking too. Here's wishing that by Sunday night all my Christmas preparations will be almost finished. Is it too much to wish for some scrappy time too? I have one more mini to complete for a gift for the inlaws.

The LO is an older one but a favorite. I love my Fuji S9000.

It's hard to believe that the weekend is over. It seems that it takes forever for Friday to arrive and then before one can blink their eyes, it's Sunday night. Laugh.

We got our tree, decorated it, put a few decorations around the house and put the Belschnickels outside. I also did the mantle with my Santa collection. I am starting to get in the festive mood. I guess it's about time as Christmas will be here in seventeen more days.

On Saturday I went to my LSS to an all day crop. It was shortened by about two hours as the weather was starting to get bad. it was lightly snowing but the roads were starting to freeze. If you know me, I just want to be at home when there is bad weather. I hate winter, I hate the cold, I hate the wind and I hate snow. The only good thing is unexpected snow days. I did get two layouts done for challenges at Just Scrappin', finished two more mini albums for gifts, and made some stinkin cute gift holders.

So tomorrow is Monday and it's back to school. I sure hope the week goes fast as I have lots to do this coming weekend. I need to wrap gifts and would like to start my Christmas baking. I sure hope I can fit some scrappy time in this weekend.

And total loathe for the week: Jules comes home for winter break. All I can say is that it's going to be a LONG six weeks. So please, if you have a few minutes, send some positive vibes my way.

Well, Tuesday morning and I am back to school. I keep telling myself only 22 more days until a long break. I am so wishing I had off today. I enjoyed my five day holiday. Introducing Aiden and other mundane stuff

It's hard to believe that Aiden was a premie. He looks so healthy and happy. These photos were taken about a month ago...I did a photo shoot of Aiden, Amanda and Carl. Actually, I was rather pleased with the final results. The LO was created in under an hour. I have NEVER done a LO in less than an hour. It was a challenge over on Just Scrappin...Cristal's wonderful, fun and no drama scrapping board. And guess what? I won the challenge! So excited :)

So, did anyone see the movie Twilight? I must say, I enjoyed it and want more Edward and Bella. And James...what a hottie! It's too bad he was one of the "bad" vampires.

Well, it was my last day of school. I am so in need of a few days off to just rest, relax and enjoy time with Chris and Lighty...oops, did I mention Black Friday. I love Black Friday. I am not quite sure if I like the shopping part, but I sure do love the excitement and all the people pushing and shoving to buy that perfect Christmas present. Laugh. It will soon be time to say good-bye to our koi pond. I dislike the time of year when we have to shut it down, bury the plants, put the heater in the pond for the fish and winterize it for the season.

Another school year. I am happy to be back at school but sad that summer is over. Fall is right around the corner and that means beautiful weather, beautiful colors, and cool breezes. But, that also means that winter will soon be here. Have I mentioned that I loathe the winter months?

And guess what? Alaska baby! I gave Lighty his 50th birthday gift a few weeks back. We are headed to Alaska in June of 2009. We are doing several days on our own to see the country, the scenery, the wildlife and then headed on a cruise for eight days. I think I might be more excited than him. I am hoping we can fit Katmai National Park into the itinerary so we can see the bears feeding on mollusks and clams. It is also the breeding season at this time of year. It should be a fun time of the year.

So, anyone reading the books by Stephanie Meyer? I can't wait until "Twilight" is in the theaters. I think I need a 12 step program...I can't stop reading!

Jules graduated high school back in June. We just took him to Bloomsburg University yesterday. I am not sure who was more excited...him or me! I just hope that he does what he is there to do..and that is study and learn. I worry because he is such a follower.

Well, two days of inservice is now complete. Tomorrow officially starts the new school year with teacher orientation. The kids start back to school on Monday. It is hard to believe that another school year is here and summer is over. Boo-hoo. I so enjoy my summers!

The line of paper and coordinating goodies are so me! They have such an artsy feel to them. A new layout of Chris and his "girlfriend" Justine. They sure are two peas in a pod. I just love the "Meistro Man." He is such a great kid...NEVER causing any problems and always so respectful of people and things. I just need to remind myself of this every now and again when I forget how limited he sometimes is when it comes to doing everyday mental or thinking tasks.

I know, it's been awhile...school is out for summer! So, I've been a happy person. Seriously though, I need to get myself in gear and start to complete some projects. My major project for this summer is to purge and declutter my studio. It is FULL and I need some space. I figure once I am back from vacation, I will kick it in full gear and get things done around the house.

I leave tomorrow for GASC in Virginia. I am looking forward to three nights and days of scrapbooking, classes, shopping and just doing my thing! No men, no worries.

When I return on Sunday, I then need to get ready for our trip to Maine. I can't wait to see some moose. I am not sure why I love moose, but I do. Such cool animals. It should be a good week, especially if i get to take lots of moose photos.

Just been busy! So, what is new with me?
*planted TONS of gerbera daisies in pots all around the house...much happiness!
*last weekend I I went to an all weekend SBing retreat...more happiness! (and I even completed lots of LO's for my Yellowstone and Tetons album.
*I bought a cricut...the greatest happiness of all (right now)!
*It's been 14 weeks of no cooking...will he ever budge and say he was wrong and "I'm sorry." If the truth were to be told...I want to cook, I miss it. I miss my food!
*count them...7 more days of school. Now that is true happiness.
*I can't wait for June...I teach 2 SB classes, I have a 15 hour crop, GASC and vacation to Maine to photograph MOOSE!

on my agenda:
*SB one day a week at my LSS
*declutter my stamp and scrap space
*clean and organize my closet

Hopefully, things will soon start to slow down and I will once again maintain this blog on a more daily basis, with pictures, too.

Teenage Attitude, Being Busy and a New LO

I CANNOT stand the teenage attitude of the youngest one right now. I am struggling (and have been) with him even being in the same room with me, much less the same house. He has really become a young man that stands for something that I don not like. He is dishonest, his mouth is filthy, and he accepts no repsonsibility for anything. I always say: "for every action, there is a reaction. There are choices in life." However, noone would see this temperament of him. He can put the charm on. If only the walls of the house could talk. His own father doesn't even see it. Well, he does see it, but refuses to do anything about it. I will save that post for another day.

I have so much coming up in the next couple of weeks, both professionally and personally. I really need to take some time and make myself a "me" calendar so I can view everything at a glance. It is so difficult to keep everyone's schedule straight. All activities are recorded on a family calendar but I am always afraid I will miss something. Just me alone: appointments, dinner and breakfast "dates", registration for summer classes: GASC and VF, design work for two upcoming classes, my first photo shoot that I will be doing for a friend, an album that I was commissioned to make, three swaps for ATC's, NSD crop (so happy about this one!), stamping convention in two weeks (another fun time!), acryllic class, prep work for two weeks worth of art camp (volunteer work...what was I thinking about this committment?)...not to mention all the deadlines at school because I am now heading into the final phase before summer break (do you see me smiling?). This is my busy time of the year!

Check out my newest LO. It is the cover page for a club that I joined. By the end of a year, I will have created 30 LO's all centered around me. I am really excited to complete my All About Me album.

*Well, Monday is almost over and that means only three more days of school until a four day weekend. Can you tell I am excited?
*Tonight is the start of Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor. I go from not watching any TV to a reality TV junkie! I wonder if I can multi task and watch TV and stamp at the same time. Probably not.
*I'm still on strike with the not cooking thing. Lighty is just not budging on this one!
*I finished another two page spread for our Yellowstone/Teton album...just need to add a title.
*Jules is still in his bedroom working on schoolwork...that means leaving me alone! Now that calls for a real big happy dance!

I am HAPPY because:

1. I am no longer sick and am actually feeling good. I am still tired but that is because Lighty has been snoring and keeping me awake most of the night. Last night, the last time I glanced at the clock it said 3:50 AM. He doesn't seem to think it's a big deal!

2. I actually created a fun LO. I have spring fever so bad, so I had to use bright and happy colors on this LO. Bright is so not me on a LO as I normally stick to earth tones.

3. All the reservations are made for our trip to Maine this coming summer, not to mention I also booked my hotel rooms for GASC in Virginia and CKC in Valley Forge.

4. Julian is in his room working on his graduation project and presentation. That keeps him busy and the two of us away from one another. How much longer until he starts college?

5. I just bought a great book for scrapbooking called Designing with Recipes. It is full of inspiration. So, I think I will just go and cuddle with the electric blanket on high, read my new book and catch up on some sleep with a Sunday nap.

so sick of being sick

Well, Sunday morning at about 6:05 AM, I awoke and needed to hit the toilet bowl really fast...I was so sick. The flu finally hit me. It wasn't until about 1:30 PM until I was actually able to not have to be sick every half hour...just like clockwork! So, here it is Tuesday night. I will be going back to school tomorrow. I am stilll not 100%. I am just so wiped out, tired, stating with a wet, hacking cough, and just not feeling hungry. And man, talk about a pounding headache. I think that is from lack of food + energy + caffeine = one tremendous, pounding, never-ending headache. I had to cancel my painting class tonight. That realy bums me out as I look forward to my weekly paint lessons.

So, tomorrow is back to the grind. I HATE going back to school. I mean I love my job and the kids but don't like the idea of having to go through two days of plans and then plan for day. That is the job of being a teacher I really dislike. I just need to tell myslef on my drive to school tomorrow, "it will all come together" and take several deep breaths.

So, needless to say, I have taken two over the counter sleeping aids in hopes that I can get a good night's sleep. Who knows what is in store for me since all I have been doing is sleeping, napping and resting.

Well, Friday night I went to a midnight crop. It was much needed after such a long week at school doing all that state testing. I met up with Wendy and we had fun times. Lots of laughs. Heck, there were only about six people there and noone talked but Wendy and I. I bet all the other croppers were glad when we left. I actually completed three layouts, minus the journalling, titles and embellishments. That is big news for me as I am lucky if I finish one layout at a twenty hour crop. Anyway, I will finish up those layouts at home this weekend.

So, this morning I am finding myself doing the wash. I want to get all my house stuff done now so I can scrapbook all afternoon and into the evening. I really want to finish my album of our trip this past summer to Yellowstone and the Tetons. Then, I need to work on "blue" ATC's and an accordian album that I am being paid to make for the secretary at school. FUN.

Well, it's snowing outside. School left out early so that is always nice except, I HATE THIS WEATHER! We are expected to have more frigid temperatures tonight and ice, too. Here's hoping we have a two hour late start. It would be so nice to be able to catch an extra two hours of sleep tomorrow morning.
